The Business Department at Davitt College joined forces with the Modern Foreign Languages Department in October 2023 for the Erasmus+ Accreditation application process and are delighted that their application has been a success and that Davitt College is now approved as an Erasmus+ Accredited School.
This Accreditation Status of the Europe wide Erasmus+ Programme has numerous benefits which will impact positively on a whole school level. It will afford students and staff many exciting opportunities in the fields of education and training.

Our students will be given opportunities to travel to Europe. They will enjoy face to face and blended learning experiences with students from other European schools. They will form friendships and collaborate on projects with their European counterparts. They will learn from their peers, experience new cultures, new languages and new school systems. They will experience being part of the European dimension.
Our staff will have opportunities to liaise with European Colleagues on a European school level with exciting opportunities to job Shadow in European schools. Staff will also have opportunities for staff training and professional development in Europe.
Davitt College Erasmus+ Committee is currently very busy establishing links with European schools. Examples include Brussels, where we have a tradition of an annual visit to the European Parliament, a school in Finland, where we aspire to identify and understand how to achieve sustainability goals in a modern school environment, in addition to maintaining and advancing our longstanding links with our German Sister School, The Realschule in Höchstadt. These are some examples of the opportunities afforded to the students and staff of Davitt College.
The German Department in Davitt College is very proud of its longstanding ties and links with its German sister school, The Realschule Höchstadt, which dates back to 2002. This school is situated in southern Germany, in a town called Höchstadt, which is also the twin town of Castlebar.
As part of the Erasmus+ Programme in Davitt College, we will work closely with our German colleagues and continue to strengthen the ties that bind us together in Education since 2002, where the focus has always been our learners and enhancing their learning experience.
