The German Department
The German Department in Davitt College is a vibrant energetic department. German is very popular on the curriculum here. There is a choice between German and French in first year. The German Department has a sister school in Bavaria Germany. The sister school is located in a town called Hochstadt an der Aisch, which is the twin town of Castlebar.
Our sister school is called Realschule Hochstadt. The school is a mixed school with over 1000 pupils.
March 2016 saw the rekindling of the German Exchange programme between Davitt College and Realschule Hochstadt and we have enjoyed numerous connections with them since then.
