🎓 Class of 2026 • Life After Davitt Celebrating the Class of 2026: New Beginnings and Bright Futures September 2026 There was a very special welcome at Davitt College as members of the Class of 2026 returned to the school — this time with their Leaving Certificate journey behind them and an exciting new chapter about to begin. Our Guidance Team were delighted to welcome the students back and have the opportunity to celebrate their excellent Leaving Certificate results. More importantly, it was a chance to catch up, hear about their plans and discover where life after Davitt is taking them. For a year group that shared so much of their secondary school journey together, the next stage will take them along many different paths — each shaped by their own interests, talents and ambitions. The Next Chapter Different Pathways. Shared Ambition. 🎓 Higher Education Beginning degree programmes and pursuing new academic opportunities. 📚 Further Education Developing specialist knowledge and practical skills for future study and careers. 🛠️ Apprenticeships Combining workplace experience with professional training and recognised qualifications. 🚀 Tertiary Education Taking advantage of new pathways connecting further and higher education. What makes the Class of 2026 particularly worth celebrating is not simply a set of examination results, but the range of futures now opening before them. Success after secondary school does not follow one route, and we are proud to see our graduates progressing through Higher Education, Further Education, Apprenticeships and Tertiary Education. Each destination represents years of work, personal growth and perseverance. As our students move into new colleges, training environments and workplaces, they carry with them the friendships, experiences and memories built during their years at Davitt College. While their time as Davitt College students has come to an end, they will always remain an important part of our school community. We look forward to hearing where their journeys take them in the years ahead. Having completed her Leaving Certificate Applied programme at Davitt College, Megan is now putting her skills into practice while continuing to learn, develop and build a career in the electrical trade. Apprenticeships offer young people the opportunity to combine practical workplace experience with structured learning and recognised qualifications. For Megan, this marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter and the opportunity to develop her skills in a highly valued and rewarding profession. 🛠️ Learning in Practice Building Skills for the Workplace Megan will develop practical expertise on the job while continuing her education and professional training as an electrical apprentice. 🚀 Life After Davitt A Pathway Beyond School Megan’s progression highlights the wide range of opportunities available to LCA students as they move into employment, further training and apprenticeships. Davitt College Celebrates Outstanding Leaving Certificate Results for the Class of 2026

🌟 Leaving Certificate • Academic Excellence Davitt College Celebrates Outstanding Leaving Certificate Results for the Class of 2026 August 2026 • Davitt College Castlebar Davitt College is delighted to celebrate an exceptional set of Leaving Certificate and Leaving Certificate Applied results achieved by the Class of 2026. The results reflect the hard work, commitment and determination of students throughout their time at Davitt College, supported by the dedication of their teachers, SNAs, staff and families. A particular highlight of this year’s results was the achievement of one exceptional student, Cian Nolan, who attained the maximum possible score of 625 points, an outstanding accomplishment and a source of great pride for the entire school community. >15% 500+ Points Achieved 500 points or more >50% 400+ Points Achieved 400 points or more 80% of students achieved over 300 points. 45% of Leaving Certificate Applied students achieved the highest grade of Distinction. The excellent Leaving Certificate Applied results are a particular source of pride for the school, with almost half of LCA students achieving a Distinction, the highest possible grade. This outstanding achievement reflects the dedication and commitment of the students and the staff who supported them throughout the programme. These results represent a significant achievement for the students and are a testament to the strong culture of learning, ambition and support within the school community. “We are incredibly proud of the achievements of our Leaving Certificate and Leaving Certificate Applied students this year. 🎓 Alumni Success • Academic Excellence Law & Politics Scholar Aisling Walsh Honoured at UCD Entrance Ceremony! 30 March 2023 • University College Dublin A massive congratulations to our past student Aisling Walsh (Leaving Certificate Class of 2022) who was officially presented with a prestigious academic award at the University College Dublin Entrance Scholars Ceremony! This special university celebration recognizes the outstanding academic achievements of elite incoming students across the country who secured 560 points or more in their Leaving Certificate exams. Aisling’s phenomenal results are a testament to her incredible work ethic, dedication, and passion for social sciences during her time here at Davitt College! Aisling is currently pursuing her passion for justice and governance by studying for her Degree in Law and Politics within the world-class UCD School of Law. We are incredibly proud to see our graduates thriving at the highest academic levels. 🥊 Alumni Spotlight • National Elite Champion Alumna Spotlight: Bethany Doocey’s Journey to the Pinnacle of Irish Boxing 26 January 2023 • National Stadium Dublin & Castlebar Boxing Club From the school corridors to the center ring at the National Stadium, the journey of former Davitt College student Bethany Doocey is a masterclass in elite dedication, relentless training, and pure sporting grit. Today, we look back at the incredible milestones that saw a hometown talent climb to the absolute summit of amateur boxing in Ireland. 2020: The Rising Star Secures National Title Number Six Back in February 2020, the school community rallied behind Bethany as she lined out for the IABA National Under 18 Boxing Championships in Dublin. Representing Castlebar Boxing Club, Bethany put on a clinical display of technical skill, power, and ring control to claim the national title. The victory was far from a flash in the pan—it marked an astonishing sixth national gold medal in her rapidly rising youth career, cementing her status as one of the country’s most formidable young prospects. 2023: Reaching the Absolute Summit at the National Stadium Fast forward to last night, and the hard work truly paid off on the grandest domestic stage of all. Stepping up to the elite ranks, Bethany faced the best fighters in the country at the IABA National Elite Boxing Championship Finals at the National Boxing Stadium in Dublin. In a grueling, high-stakes environment where the margins for error are razor-thin, Bethany delivered the performance of a lifetime. Standing victorious in the center of the ring, she claimed the prestigious National Elite Title, cementing her legacy at the absolute highest tier of Irish amateur boxing. “A massive congratulations to former student Bethany from everyone at Davitt College. Watching an athlete transition from dominant school-era champion to Elite National Champion is an inspiration to every student currently training in our sports academies.” ×

🎓 Class of 2016 • Third-Level Progression Davitt College Past Pupils Progress to Third-Level Education 11 October 2016 • Davitt College Castlebar A number of our exceptional Leaving Certificate students from the Class of 2016 recently dropped back into Davitt College to say their final goodbyes and express their gratitude to management, teachers, and staff for supporting them throughout their six years of post-primary education. These ambitious young men and women are embarking on an exciting new chapter as they begin third-level courses in prestigious universities and training colleges for the 2016/2017 academic year. Our graduates are spreading their wings to all four provinces of Ireland and beyond—with destinations ranging from Trinity College Dublin and University College Cork to NUI Galway and Aberystwyth University in Wales. 🔬 Strong Trend Towards STEM Disciplines Reflecting on the class profile, Davitt College Principal Ms. Bernie Rowland highlighted a significant shift in student academic focuses: “There is definitely a trend towards the STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths) this year. We offer all four science subjects at Senior Level: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Agricultural Science.
