🏐 Junior Volleyball • Home Blitz Triumph Junior Girls Excel in Thrilling Home Volleyball Blitz 28 January 2026 The sports hall was buzzing today as Davitt College played host to an outstanding school volleyball blitz, welcoming panels from Summerhill College and Coláiste Iascaigh (Easkey). Our Junior Girls Volleyball team put in a phenomenal performance across both fixtures. While they narrowly lost out to a sharp Easkey side in a 2–1 set thriller, the girls bounced back immediately, executing a commanding 2–0 victory over Summerhill. The entire panel showed superb technical growth, teamwork, and determination from the first serve to the final whistle. ×

🏐 Senior Volleyball • Season Opener Senior Boys Secure Athenry Win in Season Opener 14 October 2026 Our Senior Boys Volleyball team faced a top-tier test today as they hosted a competitive tri-match against Roscommon CC and Coláiste an Eachréidh (Athenry). The lads opened their account with a stellar tactical display, executing their offensive sets beautifully to log a comprehensive win over Athenry. While they ultimately fell short against a highly physical Roscommon squad, the performance sets a brilliant foundation. The panel is already back in training ahead of the next round of fixtures after the midterm break. ×

A new group of our Transition Year students stepped up today to complete the intensive Volleyball Ireland Spikeball Coaching Course. The practical workshop equipped our students with the tactical knowledge, refereeing rules, and session-planning skills required to lead active training blocks. 🏐 Volleyball Ireland • U18 Galway Beach Tour Beach Volleyball Stars Battle to All-Ireland Final 18 May 2024 A massive well done to our dedicated club players from MVC and West Bolts who travelled down to compete on the sand in the prestigious U18 Galway Beach Tour. Special congratulations to Max and Yaz, who put in a massive physical shift across the tournament. The duo produced an incredible run of matches, fighting their way all the way to the grand final where they just fell short to a powerful Cork side in a thrilling, point-for-point finish.
