Level 1 & 2 Learning Programmes
Level 1 & Level 2 Learning Programmes
A highly personalised Senior Cycle pathway designed to foster independence and prepare students for life beyond school. Tailored to the unique learning needs of every student, these programmes focus on communication, wellbeing, and real-world skills to empower young adults as they transition to their future.
Personalised Pathways
Individualised learning goals crafted around each student's specific strengths, interests, and developmental targets.
Communication & Wellbeing
Building emotional resilience, key literacy, and confidence in self-expression within a supportive environment.
Life & Community Skills
Fostering independent living skills, practical real-world application, and active community participation.
Who Are These Programmes For?
The Level 1 and Level 2 Senior Cycle Learning Programmes are designed as direct follow-on pathways for students who have engaged with Level 1 (L1LP) or Level 2 (L2LP) Learning Programmes during their Junior Cycle, ensuring continuous, tailored educational growth.
Level 1 Pathway
Carefully tailored for students who have complex, multiple learning needs and experience delayed development in communication, language, and adaptive skills. These students require targeted support with basic numeracy, communication, and essential social skills.
Level 2 Pathway
Designed for students whose unique learning profile means they are best supported outside of traditional Leaving Certificate Established (LCE) or Leaving Certificate Applied (LCA) structures. These students are typically identified at the ‘Support for Few’ stage of the Continuum of Support framework.
Collaborative Planning & Support
The Student Support File (SSF)
Deciding on the most appropriate Senior Cycle pathway is a deeply collaborative process. At Davitt College, we work in close consultation with parents, guardians, and the students themselves to ensure the absolute best fit.
Ensuring every student's voice and individual goals sit at the heart of their education.
A Holistic Picture
Provides a complete, comprehensive picture of your child, clearly documenting their specific strengths, learning needs, and ongoing progress.
A Collaborative Record
Brings together valuable insights from parents, class teachers, our Special Education Teachers (SET), and relevant external professionals.
Targeted Support
Collates the evidence needed to identify exact teaching resources, interventions, and assistive technologies required to support your child's transition to adult life.
