You Can’t Stop the Beat

Welcome to the swinging 60s. Take a look back at our electrifying November 2013 production.

The Story

Davitt College’s long-running history of school musicals was upheld in November 2013 with the performance of one of its most successful shows, Good Morning Baltimore! The school hall relived the glory of the 60’s with four sold-out shows, warmly received by everyone lucky enough to witness it. From backdrops, props, and costumes to lighting, music, singing, acting, and dancing, this musical was a sheer joy—delivering a spellbinding, enchanting performance that left the audience smiling from ear to ear and rewarded the cast with a rousing standing ovation.

The Production

The Transition Year Musical at Davitt College is a wonderful example of teamwork and collaboration between staff and students. Musical Director Eamonn Mulderrig paid homage to over twenty years of school musical traditions, highlighting music and theatre as a powerful vehicle for youth self-expression. Led by Producer and Choreographer Vivienne Moran, Director Fiona Murtagh, and Orchestra Conductor Phil Duffy, the cast and crew responded brilliantly, making this one of the finest productions ever staged at the school.
