Davitt College Annual Awards Ceremony 2025

21 May 2025

Davitt College, Castlebar, proudly hosted its Annual Awards Ceremony on Wednesday 21st May 2025, bringing together students, staff, and families to celebrate outstanding achievement, perseverance, and dedication both inside and beyond the classroom.

The school was honored to welcome past student, author, and journalist Mr. Edwin McGreal as Guest of Honour. Reflecting fondly on his own school days at Davitt College, Mr. McGreal delivered an inspiring address, encouraging students to pursue their ambitions with hard work, embrace the importance of equality, and cherish the unique experiences of their school years.

Over 100 students received recognitions across a wide array of categories, including academic excellence, sporting prowess, musical talent, and extra-curricular involvement.

“These awards recognise our students in so many vital ways – celebrating their contributions to the wider community, their student leadership, their commitment to extra-curricular activities, and their academic accomplishments. Today truly encompasses our core values of excellence in education, care, respect, equality, and community.”
