Welcome to the 80s
Join the graduating class of William Ocean High School as they navigate the ultimate neon decade! Back to the 80s tells the story of Corey Palmer’s senior year, his quest to win the heart of the girl-next-door, and the timeless trials of high school popularity.
Following our tradition of award-winning musical theatre, the Davitt College cast and crew are turning back the clock for this year’s massive production. Expect high-energy dance routines, spectacular synth-pop anthems, and a heavy dose of pure nostalgia.

Character Breakdowns
The Corey's
- Corey Palmer (senior): The narrator of the show. He is the older version of Corey, now living in the year 2000 and reminiscing about his high school days in the 1980s. (Male | Age: 25–30 | Vocal Range: G3 to F4)
- Corey Palmer (junior): The hero of the musical. An ordinary, likeable senior dealing with typical issues including his love for Tiffany Houston. (Male | Age: 15–18 | Vocal Range: Bb2 to D5)
Tiffany & The "Cool Girls"
- Tiffany Houston: A cute, bubbly teenager, innocent and doe-eyed about boys and love. (Female | Age: 15-18 | Vocal Range: F3 to F5)
- Cyndi Gibson: A street-smart, boy-wary member of Tiffany's posse who has a crush on Michael. (Female | Age: 15-18 | Vocal Range: A3 to E5)
- Mel Easton: Elite "Cool Girl," twin sister of Kim who loves to rock out as a backup to the group. (Female | Age: 15-18 | Vocal Range: A3 to C5)
- Kim Easton: Twin sister of Mel and friend of Cyndi. A party-loving cheerleader. (Female | Age: 15-18 | Vocal Range: A3 to C#5)
Michael Feldman & His Posse
- Michael Feldman: The coolest guy in school. Arrogant, manipulative, and picks on smaller kids when girls aren't around. (Male | Age: 15-18 | Vocal Range: D3 to B4)
- Billy Arnold: Popular and athletic, appears tough but has little backbone without Michael. (Male | Age: 15-18 | Vocal Range: A3 to A4)
- Lionel Astley: A follower, not quite as cool as the other guys, but tolerated by the girls. (Male | Age: 15-18 | Vocal Range: Bb2 to G4)
- Huey Jackson: An 80s tragic who wears fluorescent mismatched colors and a white Michael Jackson glove. (Male | Age: 15-18)
Corey's Crew
- Alf Bueller: One of Corey Junior's best friends. A likeable teenager just coming into adulthood. (Male | Age: 15-18 | Vocal Range: Bb2 to Bb4)
- Kirk Keaton: One of the "nice" boys who is naive and has difficulty with girls. (Male | Age: 15-18 | Vocal Range: Bb2 to F4)
The Classmates
- Feargal McFerrin: The sensitive school nerd. Supremely intelligent, but his visions of the new millennium are mocked. (Male | Age: 15-18 | Vocal Range: E3 to B4)
- Eileen Reagan: The new arrival, charming, full of vitality, and a dreamer. (Female | Age: 15-18 | Vocal Range: G3 to G5)
- Laura Wilde: Debbie's best friend. Awkward and has trouble with boys, but a nice girl. (Female | Age: 15-18 | Vocal Range: F3 to E5)
- Debbie Fox: Laura's competitive best friend who lies about fantasy relationships with celebrities. (Female | Age: 15-18 | Vocal Range: F3 to E5)
The Faculty
- Ms. Sheena Brannigan: An outwardly reserved, slightly conservative Senior Students Coordinator with a wild past. (Female | Age: 30-45 | Vocal Range: F3 to E5)
- Mr. Stevie Cocker: The Deputy Principal and math teacher who has strong feelings for Sheena. (Male | Age: 30-45 | Vocal Range: D3 to A4)
The Ensemble
Chorus & Backups: Boys, Girls, and Backup Vocalists. The lifeblood of the show bringing the massive 80s dance numbers to life.

Production Callboard
Initial vocal auditions will be held in the Music Room late 2026.
First Round Callbacks will be held Monday 7th and Tuesday 8th of September.

Full Chorus: Wednesdays (8:55AM) & Thursdays (8:55AM).
