Lunchtime Clubs & Extra-Curricular Life
Beyond the classroom, student life at Davitt College comes alive through our vibrant extra-curricular schedule.
Whether you want to learn a new skill, join a team, or explore a passion during lunchtime, there is a club, a room, and a place for you here.
Participation, creativity, and community are cornerstones of our school environment. Our Lunchtime Activities & Clubs offer a wide variety of interactive options—from languages, strategy, and music to robotics, craft, and sports—giving students across all year groups the opportunity to build friendships, explore new interests, and thrive in school life.
Our schedule succeeds through the dedicated support of our teachers and student mentors, who create welcoming spaces every day of the week for students to connect and excel.

Frequently Asked Questions
When do lunchtime activities start in the school year?
Most clubs and societies launch during the second week of the autumn term following student induction. Specific dates and room announcements are shared during morning registration and posted on the student notice boards.
Are there any fees or equipment requirements?
All school-run lunchtime clubs are completely free to attend. All essential equipment (such as robotics kits, board games, craft supplies, and musical instruments) is provided by the school.
How are students supervised during lunchtime activities?
Every club is organised and supervised by designated teaching staff members or faculty coordinators. Rooms are opened following the designated lunch break bell.
Can First Years join any club?
Yes! The vast majority of our clubs operate an open-door policy for all year groups. A small number of specialised programmes (such as An Gaisce for Senior Cycle or Big Brother Big Sister mentorship) are year-group specific as indicated on the schedule grid.
Getting involved in extra-curricular activities at Davitt College isn't just about learning new skills—it's where you make lifelong friends, find your confidence, and make your mark on our school community.
