I am very pleased to introduce you to the Davitt College Website. We are a co-educational, non-denominational and multicultural school—a dynamic and innovative centre of teaching and learning.

Our talented and dedicated staff have created an environment where our holistic approach to education provides all our students with a wide range of academic and practical subjects, alongside an extensive range of extracurricular activities and health and physical education programmes.

Year Heads & Tutors

Providing a structured, daily point of contact to monitor student academic progress, foster attendance, and support individual personal development.

Guidance Counselling

Offering professional personal, social, and career guidance to help students navigate subject choices, wellbeing, and future pathways confidently.

Learning Support

Identifying individual learning needs and providing dedicated, tailored academic resources so every student can fully access the curriculum.

Student Care Team

A multi-disciplinary support network meeting regularly to proactively monitor student welfare, coordinate assistance, and safeguard wellbeing.

Parent & Community Partnership

Home School Community Liaison

The Home School Community Liaison (HSCL) scheme at Davitt College acts as a vital bridge between home, school, and the wider community. Our coordinator works closely with parents and guardians to offer practical support, host welcoming school initiatives, and ensure that every family feels fully connected to, and involved in, their child’s educational journey.

Heritage & Evolution

Our History

Established with a vision to provide exceptional education to the community, Davitt College has grown from its foundational roots into a dynamic, modern secondary school.

1982 — Foundations

School established on a brand-new, modern campus.

1990–1995 — Expansion

Major school extension planned; official opening performed by Minister for Education Niamh Breathnach TD in 1995.

2011 — Sports Heritage

The state-of-the-art Joe Langan Sports Hall is officially opened by Taoiseach Enda Kenny.

2016–2019 — Innovation

Multiple national Sci-Fest awards, launch of Politics & Society, and achieving consecutive Green Flag distinctions.

2024 — Growth & Accreditation

New building expansion opens with enrolment nearing 900 students, alongside earning official EU Erasmus+ Accreditation.

2026 — Artistic Distinction

The TY musical Rock of Ages wins 7 national awards, celebrating over 40 years of standard-setting performing arts excellence.
