An Taoiseach Enda Kenny Officially Opens the Joe Langan Sports Hall at Davitt College

Friday, 16th December 2011, marked one of the most historic milestones in the history of Davitt College, Castlebar, with the official opening of our state-of-the-art Joe Langan Sports Hall.
The school community was deeply honoured to welcome An Taoiseach, Mr. Enda Kenny, T.D., as the guest of honour to perform the official ribbon-cutting ceremony and address assembled students, staff, and distinguished civic leaders.
A Lasting Sporting Legacy
The Joe Langan Sports Hall provides a cutting-edge hub for physical education, competitive indoor athletics, and large-scale community assemblies for generations of Mayo students to come.
The realization of this world-class sports facility was memorably described by Principal Ms. Bernie Rowland as “a triumph of persistence over resistance,” marking the culmination of years of dedicated campaigning, planning, and community collaboration to secure top-tier sporting infrastructure for Davitt College.
